Alex Mechlin is a filmmaker based out of Chicago. His diverse career includes management experience in technology, journalism and film. With a technical background in web development, Alex is able to be on the cutting edge of digital camera technologies, and video content distribution over the web.

As a director, Alex has skills in bringing musicians and film crews together to understand the concepts and technology and produce superior products. These abilities are apparent in Le Concorde's highly praised Parallel Lives music video, shot on the RED camera system. As one of a small group of directors who know the RED camera, he has worked on numerous RED camera shoots including the short film Requited and the music video Psalm 34. Alex has experience from pre to post production with the RED and understands the possibilities and the occasional limitations that need to be taken into account when shooting with the camera.
Because of his passion for music, Alex focuses on finding new ways to best integrate sound and image. Alex has directed and shot numerous concert videos, for such bands as All Time Low, Thievery Corporation, Verona Red, and NYCO. He also directed and edited Lumino City Vision, an online web series featuring bands such as Dada, Kill Hannah, and Simon Dawes and Chicago entertainment venues Martini Park and Underground.
Alex is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, where he was a Provost Scholarship recipient, and a finalist in the Image Cup digital media competition. He currently resides in Chicago, and has many projects in development, including a feature film and a new Le Concorde music video.
